BATTLE MODE
Soul on Top 2012 is a five versus five b-boy/b-girl battle. Each
participating crew is to be made of exactly five b-boys or b-girls. The winner
of Soul on Top will this year win CHF 1000.- (Onethousand Swiss Franks).
This year up to 32 crews will be able to compete. The battle is strictly organized
in a K.O. mode. There will be no more battles with three crews and no show battles either.
After each battle the victorious crew, picked by the judges, will advance to
the next round. The crews to battle each other in the first round will be randomly drawn.
The battle consists of five rounds: the

finals with 32 crews, the
1/
8 finals with 16 crews,
the
1/
4 finals with aight crews, the
1/
2
finals with four crews and the final round with two crews. In the
1/
16
and the
1/
8 finals two battles will be held at the same time in two different circles.
In all the other rounds all battles will be held one after the other in the main circle. In the
1/
16
finals each battle will be judged by three judges. In the other rounds there will be six judges.
If less than thirtytwo crews show up, the judges will
pick the best among the crews that lost in the
1/
16
finals so that there will be a guaranteed 16 crews in the
1/
8 finals.
The
1/
16 finals, the
1/
8 finals and
the
1/
4 finals will all dure aight minutes. The
1/
2
finals and the final round will dure ten minutes.

RULES
1. Don't endanger the competing dancers. 2. Touching is not allowed and may
lead to disqualification. 3. Each dancer has to withhold entering the circle unless the
competing dancer has finished his round. 4. Don't endanger the other dancers by doing stunts.
5. The judges' decisions have to be respected. 6. We deny liability for injuries. 7. Insurance
coverage is the participants' responsibility. We reject any liability. 8. Don't be late. 9. And last but not
least the most important rule: respect, take care and have fun!

REGISTRATION
If you want to participate at Soul on Top 2012 write an e-mail containing the
following information to
soulontop@hotmail.com:
1. Let us know your crew name, and the city or village and country you are coming from.
2. Choose one participating b-boy or b-girl who will be responsable for your crew. We then
need the responsable b-boy's or b-girl's full address, his or her e-mail address, his or her portable phone
number (including the country code) and his or her real name.
As soon as we have received your information you will be registered. If any information should
be missing we will let you know. Registered crews will be added to the registered crew list.
When and if 32 crews should be registered we will start a waiting list. If you are on the waiting list
we will keep you up to date on cancellations of registrations. If you cannot come after
having registered, please let us know.
B-boys and b-girls that participate in the battle pay no entry fee for the main event on sunday.
Don't be late for Soul on Top. Be there on time for check-in. If you are late
the battle will start without you. Crews on the waiting list will be taking your
place.
